ASO Agent

The ASO Agent optimizes your App Store and Google Play listings to improve organic visibility, conversion rates, and downloads. It analyzes your metadata, keywords, and visual assets, then generates specific recommendations based on what top-ranking apps in your category are doing.

Status: In development (part of Growth Audit Agent evaluator suite)

What it does

The ASO Agent evaluates your app store listing across multiple dimensions:

Metadata analysis

  • Primary keyword placement — checks if your primary keyword appears in title or subtitle
  • Keyword coverage — evaluates how many long-tail keywords you're targeting (goal: 30+)
  • Description optimization — analyzes keyword density, readability, and structure
  • Promotional text — reviews seasonal or feature-focused copy

Visual assets

  • Screenshot optimization — evaluates count, sequence, and messaging (goal: 5–8 screenshots)
  • App preview video — checks if you have a video and whether it's optimized for conversion
  • Icon effectiveness — assesses clarity, uniqueness, and category fit

Performance metrics

  • App Store rating — tracks your star rating and review count
  • Rating distribution — analyzes the spread of 1-5 star reviews
  • Review velocity — measures how quickly you accumulate new reviews
  • Localization coverage — identifies markets where you could add localized listings

Competitive benchmarking

  • Category ranking trends — tracks your position over time
  • Competitor keyword gaps — shows what keywords top competitors rank for that you don't
  • Differentiation opportunities — highlights areas where your listing can stand out

How it works (current implementation)

The ASO Agent is currently part of the Growth Audit Agent as the ASOEvaluator. When you run a growth audit, the ASO category:

  1. Fetches your store listing data — title, subtitle, keywords, screenshots, rating, review count
  2. Runs checklist evaluations — scores each ASO element (0–100)
  3. Generates insights — explains what's working and what's not
  4. Provides recommendations — tells you exactly what to change

Checklist items evaluated

ItemWhat it checksExpected value
Primary keyword in title/subtitleIs your main keyword in the title or subtitle?Present
Long-tail keyword coverageHow many keywords are you targeting?30+
Screenshot optimizationHow many screenshots do you have?5–8
App Store ratingWhat's your star rating?4.0+
Rating countHow many reviews do you have?100+ (varies by category)
LocalizationHow many languages/markets?3+

Each item receives a score (0, 50, or 100) and a performance level (fail, needs improvement, good, excellent).

Example insights & recommendations

If you're missing a primary keyword in your title

  • Insight: "Title/subtitle does not contain primary keywords. This hurts discoverability."
  • Recommendation: "Research your category keywords and incorporate the top 1–2 into your app name or subtitle."

If you have too few screenshots

  • Insight: "3 screenshots uploaded (below minimum). Users expect to see more visual proof."
  • Recommendation: "Add more screenshots showing key features and outcomes (not just UI). Aim for 5–8."

If your rating is below 4.0

  • Insight: "3.7★ rating from 450 reviews. This significantly hurts conversion."
  • Recommendation: "Focus on improving user experience and actively responding to negative reviews. Consider prompting happy users to rate the app."

If keyword coverage is low

  • Insight: "App targets 12 keywords (too few). Missing long-tail opportunities."
  • Recommendation: "Expand keyword coverage with long-tail variations to improve organic reach. Use tools like App Store Connect's keyword suggestions."

Standalone ASO Agent (planned)

The standalone ASO Agent will expand beyond the Growth Audit evaluator to offer:

Real-time keyword tracking

  • Track your app's ranking for specific keywords over time
  • Get alerts when rankings drop or improve significantly
  • Compare your rankings to competitors

Automated listing snapshots

  • Capture your store listing daily
  • Track changes to competitor listings
  • Identify what changes correlate with ranking improvements

A/B test suggestions

  • Recommend what to test next (title vs. subtitle vs. screenshots)
  • Estimate impact of proposed changes
  • Track results of experiments you run

Localization insights

  • Identify high-opportunity markets for localization
  • Analyze keyword search volume by region
  • Suggest which languages to prioritize

Competitor monitoring

  • Automatically track top 10 apps in your category
  • Alert when competitors update their listings
  • Highlight successful strategies to adapt

How to access ASO analysis today

  1. Navigate to Growth Audit in Fload
  2. Select your app and run an audit
  3. View the ASO category in the report
  4. Implement the recommendations
  5. Re-run the audit in 30 days to measure improvement

Pricing

ASO analysis is included in:

  • Startup plan — as part of Growth Audit (5 audits/month)
  • Pro plan — as part of Growth Audit (20 audits/month)
  • Trial plan — as part of Growth Audit (10 audits during trial)

The standalone ASO Agent (keyword tracking, daily snapshots, competitor monitoring) will be a separate feature when it launches.

Use cases

Pre-launch optimization

Before launching your app:

  • Run ASO analysis on top 10 competitors
  • Identify keyword gaps and opportunities
  • Optimize your listing based on what's working in your category

Post-update validation

After updating your store listing:

  • Run ASO analysis to benchmark your changes
  • Track ranking improvements over the next 2–4 weeks
  • Iterate based on results

Seasonal campaigns

Before a big promotion or seasonal push:

  • Update promotional text and screenshots
  • Run ASO analysis to confirm your messaging is optimized
  • Monitor ranking changes during the campaign

Localization strategy

When deciding which markets to localize:

  • Review localization insights in the ASO report
  • Identify high-opportunity languages
  • Estimate potential organic lift from localization

Limitations

  • App Store Connect required — ASO analysis needs your store listing data
  • English-optimized — keyword analysis works best for English-language apps (multilingual support improving)
  • Manual implementation — the agent tells you what to change, but you update the listing in App Store Connect
  • No real-time tracking yet — keyword rankings are point-in-time (continuous tracking coming in standalone version)

Roadmap

  • Standalone ASO Agent — separate from Growth Audit, with keyword tracking and alerts
  • Daily listing snapshots — automatic capture of your listing and competitors
  • Competitor alerts — notifications when top apps update their listings
  • A/B test tracking — measure impact of metadata experiments
  • Localization ROI estimates — predict organic lift from localizing to new markets
  • Keyword suggestion engine — AI-generated keyword recommendations based on your app's features
